چکیده
Besi merupakan unsur yang penting bagi proses metabolisme organisma seperti kitar asid trikarboksilik, pengangkutan elektron dan fosforilasi oksidatif. Walau bagaimanapun, sumber besi di persekitaran luar sentiasa berada dalam bentuk kompleks tidak tersedia untuk pengambilan terus. Bagi mengatasi pengehadan besi, mikroorganisma berupaya menghasilkan siderofor, sejenis pengkelat Fe(III) berafinan tinggi. Salah satu genus bakteria dapat siderofor adalah Bacillus. Dalam kajian ini, penghasilan keupayaan pengkompleksan Bacillus cereus, megaterium aryabhattai ditentukan melalui asai piring agar cecair krom azurol S (CAS). Kesan karbon (glukosa, maltosa gliserol) ke atas oleh turut dikaji. Hasil telah menunjukkan bahawa B. cereus dikulturkan kaldu LB tertinggi berbanding megaterium. Siderofor dihasilkan ketiga-tiga spesies berkompleks dengan Mn(II), Zn(II) Cu(II). pengkulturan memberikan paling tinggi
